Fluoride boosts the oxidase-like activity of hydrolyzed Ce(<sc>iv</sc>) but inhibits the activity of Ce(<sc>iv</sc>), allowing intentional hydrolysis to be performed for consistent analysis of Ce(<sc>iv</sc>).
